heya,
i was just wondering if anyone knows the EASY way (if there is one) to get the black spray paint, or black paint, that has been put on all the chrome bits on my celica. It'll take me ages the way i've been told. Does metho work? Any advise would be great. Thanks Smile

I've managed to flake patches of mine off when washing the car with the garden hose. I've noticed that it has marked the Chrome though.

Thinners will probably work, but don't use it if there's any chance it will get on your car's paint (ie the bits you want to keep).

The "chrome" around the windscreens is not chrome at all! It's stainless steel, so use sand paper for that. I'm not sure if any other bits are stainless steel or not....

Ultimately, remove all of the painted chrome bits from the car and use thinners on them.

I'm pretty sure thinners is safe to use on chrome... you may find the chrome bits won't be in great condition though(possibly the reason they were painted).

yeah thanks. Its actually in pretty good condition, the stuff i could get off. And the kero and toothbrush idea sounds like its worth trying. Either that or i'll respray those bits with some black paint, if worst comes to worst. Its easy to get off the flat surfaces around the lights but there are some rough bits that have places i cant get too, but a toothbrush may be able too!! paint thinner may work, but i'll check it on the old window surrounding that i got laying around, to make sure it doesnt screw it up! My window surroundings are in good condition, they werent painted, i just used autosol and polished them up and they came nice. Thanks for all ya help, i'll let ya know what works. Anyway its coming along, hopefully she'll be on the road in no time Very Happy
