Trueno Front Panels

Anyone successfully got their hands on some trueno front panels in the past?
Or does anyone know if there is a way of getting them at all.
A few of my friends have smashed up sprinters (like so many others, frontal damage of course). They go "Oh, I don't give a sh**, I'm gonna convert it to a trueno front anyways".
But I'm betting that you can't get these things anywhere..
As for the trueno nosed aus spec sprinters, I heard most of these vehicles were converted before the recent ae86 popularity surge.
I spoke to a few toyota import specialists, and they reckon that these panels were available like 5-10 years ago. Back then, they were in abundance, and no one even wanted em. nowadays, you can't get em.
it's pretty funny, one guy even said that back in the early 90's, he'd rembered seeing racks and racks of ae86 lsd diffs, and they were rarely sold! Panels galore too, just sitting around rusting.
Wot does everyone think? Is the possibility of being able to import a Trueno front end still possible. Furthermore, how about the other rare 86 stuff (interiors, lsd diffs).
any thoughts?
rock on.

All I can say is keep dreaming if you want one ...
Even if you had the money, you're right in that finding one would be the greatest obstacle if you're just searching here within Australia. The closest I've ever come to from a wrecker is just the Trueno bonnet.
Even then, factor in that if you ever prang the front, you will be searching forever for another replacement unless you ship another front-cut in. Also, as they're pop-up lights, things are more prone to go wrong with them especially with the moving parts.
Trueno's are nice but I prefer Levin's as they look tougher when done up and don't have much of an Initial D tag.

Check out AE85 Trueno's, it might be easier to get one of these.
The chassis is identical to an AE86 and they seem to be more common as imports.
You're right about the good old days, I built my first Sprinter with 4agze about 10 years ago and there was literally dozens of lsd axles and AE86 half cuts floating around. I even decided against buying a full TRD Group A Sprinter 'cause it was too expensive at $12000!!
Wish I'd known then what I know now!!

how about importing the whole car, then you can get the diff as well! probably cost the same as frnt cut if shipped as deck cargo (ie drive on drive off) as opposed to in a container. it really doesnt matter how shitty the particular car is, cause its not being bought as a road going concern, also has any one looked to newzealand for parts and things, i understand the language is similar to english! may make things easier!

fully dressed front cuts are real hard to find too...
A lot of the good ones are re welded to other chassis to make a complete car. And of the ones are available, alot of them have impact damage around the radiator support ...
I would gladly pay the amount, as I'm looking for a clean 4age conversion too.
rock on.

I realise I'll get shot for mentioning this
10 years ago VL commodores were more a matter of 'huh? aww yeah, them ones with that jap thingy nissan engine ey... always playing up... got one of them computer thingy's on it...'
Nowadays... Anyone been near a TAFE carpark lately?
Also funny how the 'mean age of calais ownership' has gone from about 70 down to about 20... sure hope that doesnt happen with our beloved cressidas!
