Hi everyone, i have finally got up to starting my car and now the barsted has no spark. I am running an INJEC computer with Ford igniters and a modified dizzy. The engine and computer was in my old Celica and ran fine and all i did was swap it all over. I have power to the coils (both - and +)when i turn the ignition on,the injectors fire when i crank it etc etc. It seems that the "pulse" from the dizzy isnt getting to the computer or the computer isnt outputting it?? I have tried everything and i cant find a thing. My mates sparkie friend had a look today and he thinks its the computer, but i havent done anything to it!!!! So if anyone can offer any advice (other than to burn the car or toss the computer!!!) then i would really appreciate it. I am the worst person with electrics and i just get pissed off and give up. Thanks fellas in advance.
Jamie.

Strutto, yes they are they are screwed to the radiator support. The dizzy must be working cause the computer uses it to pick up the rpm of the engine and it increases as the engine is wound over. The problem i think is in either the computer or the signal wire to the ignitors. The car is at my mates shop so i cant muck around with it till the weekend but i need ideas. No suggestion is stupid!!

Yep, by my reckoning the problem must be either in the computer or the ignitors. Have you grounded the computer?

Hey Jamie
If the injectors are firing, then the dizzy must definately be sending a signal to the ECU.
Surely then it can only be ignitors or coils? are you still running twin spark?
Is there a way to manually trigger the coils just to see if you get a spark?
Sorry for the lame reply, its not really that helpful, but ill think about it more tonight
Cheers
Phil

Hi everyone, thanks for the replys. I have finally gone and looked at it and the dizzy is definately giving signal cause the rpm is reading on the computer. The wiring from the computer to the ignitors is correct as well. The ignitors are wired correctly as are the coils and both have power and good earth. My guess is that my mate has shorted something on the relays and sent too much amps to the computer and possibly blown a resistor. Does anyone know a good place to check out computers in Sydney???If not ill send it back to INJEC in Melbourne.
Thanks again. Jamie.

Jamie ,
Dont stuff around , get that computer on its way o'nite frieght to melbourne to be checked out !!!
Dyno day is not far away.
Eliminate the computer as a fault source.
anything else can be rectified in the days before, just get it there so they can get it back.
good luck from a 3T fan from way back .

Jamie,
Matt had to send his computer back to melbourne at least twice - with suspected shorting uot etc. Each time they returned it - saying they didn't fix anything, but low and behold the car went again!
Hurry Up!

Hi guys, thanks for the advice. I will send it on monday express post.(i cant get it till the weekend) I have sent it back once before after a mechanic shop jump started it (wankers)and they shorted something out. INJEC reckon they didnt do anything but as soon as i got it back and plugged it in the car ran fine. Once i can afford to ill replace the computer with motec (but thats a while away) If i get the computer back quickly and can get my car tuned ill be at the dyno day.
Thanks agin.
Jamie
