Can any AE82 twinky owner help me out??? Fri, 30 May 2003 15:40 Go to next message
Can anyone with a twin cam AE82 in Sydney PLEASE help me out?

I have a set of wheels(15s) that on my sohc ae82 sit outside the front guards. I have had much debate with the place where they were bought and they believe that the twin cam front hubs sit in further under the guards and that my wheels will fit under the twinky guards. If they do, i'll buy some twinky hubs.

I need to put one or two of my wheels on a ae82 twin cam to test out this theory. Is anyone in Sydney willing to let me use their rolla to test it out??? It'll only take a few minutes and i'd be very grateful.

Cheers

Note that the twin cam hub knuckles use a different size bolt (larger) to attach to the struts. Also, the width of the part that bolts to the strut is different, ie wider then the sohc units.

Apart from that, i noticed no difference to the track of the front wheels after putting twin cam suspension in the front of my sohc AE82. (struts and hub knuckles. the lower control arms are identical between models)

Craig.
