What actually happens when u hit fuel cut.
I know it stops the fuel flowing but does it totall stop it or just regulate it.
Will the ignition die and have to restart it?
thnx
Brett.

hi brett,
efi _usually_ cuts fuel until engine has dropped X rpm below set cutoff limit?
Ign power is always on (plugs fire as waste spark) - but injectors don't get triggered by the ecu.
The ecu is still running and stays running - whole point is to lower rpm not stop motor.
Some have a hard (0% fuel) and soft cut (25-50% fuel) just below the hard-cut limit - but as that makes you run v.lean for a few ticks before the fuel shuts off, it's not common (or so the efi dudes on the megasquirt yahoo group advise).
regards,
Charles.
