Hi, I need a new head gasget and was told the genuine Toyota metal shim gasget is the one to get, only problem is the toyota dealers near me say that I cant get parts for for the gze at all. I assume they are lying. Does anybody know the part number or where I can get one from?

They got me one, and I'm pretty sure they will mail order parts.

If you have your vin number off the car the engine came out of then you can get pretty much any part. This is wat the guy at cambelltown toyota told me. I gave him the vin number off the levin my 4agze came out of and he accessed the japanese spare parts shit and I got a gear box seal.

Thanks guys, I rang canberra and they had one and are sending it to me.
I was told to avoid the copper gasget. Whats the reasons for them being better or worse.

Damn! I knew I should've recorded the chassis number out of the 4agze front cut I threw out.
But that would mean you could just go to any place that sold a similar front cut and use it's engine number doesn't it?

www.hksusa.com have 3 differnt (i think) types of metal head gaskets for the 4AG(Z)E. You might want to try them.

only problem with solid copper head gaskets from the research i've done is you are suppose to o-ring the engine when you use them..
the part #'s where i work for a aftermarket head gaskest we get are the same for a ge and a ze engine. i got one in my full gasket kit, not sure if i really wanna use it though (bit bodgy looking if you ask me)..
gotta keep saving for a HKS one.
