americans got a "22r-te". this turbo/manifold setup would be perfect (assuming the n/a and turbo motors have the same exhaust setup)

otherwise you're looking at custom manifold as well... which means it's probably not the most economical power increase for such an old motor (unless you've got a special affinity to it)

i was going to do similar conversion but i decided to go the 18rg.. i have read that the ct26 goes well on the 22re or a t03.. my opinion i agree with those 2 options you can get a ct26 for nothing i have seen them for 300 bux in good cond aparently.. for a good t03 you wil be looking at round 500-1500 depending on the condition.. the t03 flows alot better then ct26 being garret.. well thats my opinion anyway.

CT26 is definitely the better turbo out of those two. I have friends with MA70's and VL turbos, and it's quite obvious which one has better potential with the wick turned up. The CT26 is also heaps bigger!

Having said that, I reckon a CT26 is too big for a 22R. I'd be looking at something like an RB20 or SR20 turbo.

Forget the factory 22R-TE setup, it's pretty crap. The turbo is tiny and the manifold flows poorly. Remember it's designed for a low-rpm truck engine which had only 130hp from the factory!
