Does anyone know if xA6x solid axcel rear shocks are at all like xA6x IRS shocks? (ie ra60 vs ra65) How about solid axcel a6 vs a4 vs a2 vs ae86?

no problem as yet cuz i havent attempted it. Its just that i wanted it to be wired up properly, and if i did it it will probably be bodgy and not work. i just think its a bit much for me to do by myself. If i could get some help one weekend or one day that would be great.Given the misinformation Celicaboy has been spewing lately, I'd take that with a fairly hefty grain of salt. Try talking to any suspension shop (or even Toyota) and get the part numbers for the IRS and non-IRS vehicles; if they match, you know they're the same!

i *know* that the ma61 vs ra60 rears are different p/n's in the gabriel catalogue. i guess ths transfers to ra60 to ra65 also.
this, however, doesnt mean they dont fit
as i recall, practically ANY O - type will fit. including old holden and ford rear shocks. and if youre not using a stroke sensitive valving type of shock, the shocks installed height etc shouldnt effect its performace at all. obviously different cars will have different stock damping co-eff's, but this cn be a good thing if you want to play with things a bit

thanks for the informative answers Norbie & Ed
i was thinking along the same lines, and I asked the OCC too. I figured a different length wouldn't be such a problem, but apparently the ae86 shocks are much too short. Like 4". While some thought should be able to make them fit, i was also told ae86 shocks are much too short for even a dracally lowered IRS a6, and got a definite 'won't work' from TomD, so that's that.
FWIW, the useless Koni website lists the exact same part # for all a2, a4, sold axcel a6, and IRS a6.
