The computer triggers the operation of the SC. Perhaps there is a bad connection that's stopping the sc clutch from engaging. There could also be a fault in the sc relay.

Are you sure the sc is not working? Have you got a boost guage? There could be many reasons why you have less power such as boost leaks, slipping belt, knock sensor, abv etc.

it's an AE92 AFM. standard ecu... no boost guage:( (yet) and i can't remember if it sparked
the battery was out for about 2 days max...

the bloody thing sounds like a lawnmower... maybe it just really needs a tune.. but it was never this bad...

it's been garaged for a while now as is unreg. i've been trying to get it ready for blue slip but i can't take it like this... and i can't afford towing to a mechanics to get an opinion...

damned if you do, damned if you don't!!!

to be honest it sounds as though it's running on 3 cyl.
i checked the leads and they seem fine... i lent my tools to a mate so i can't check the sparkies yet Sad
when idling, there is a fairly strong smell of petrol.

hope that helps!!!
please keep me posted Smile

Hey Gremlin,

I think the reason you are not getting any pull from the SC is due to the fact that the engine is not firing properly and is unable to sustain and power int eh upper rev range. If you have dropped a plug or something then that would explain the lawn mower feel to it and probably the strong fuel smell.

I personally would inspect all your plugs and sparks...and get a socket to your exhaust manifold nuts and make sure they have not gone loose on you.
