Anyone know of any places that make custom consoles for the TA22's?
I'm mainly just after ideas but could be interested in buying one.
Thanks

I am planning on getting a custom console myself for my ta22. I've heard they are easy to make, although im crap at woodwork, but wouldnt it be like just making the shape from wood, then covering with whatever material you want, like vinyl. or are you after plastic moulding.

I just wanted to get some ideas of what a good one would look like, and then try and make my own with fibreglass.

sorry i have no pics or a camera
one thing i forgot i have pulled out the heater core
so u may be able to see it and/or it may get in the way.
theres a few cars out there with simply consoles that
are floor mounted..swifts..barinas..excels..+ more
it sits hard up against the bulge in the floor between the seats and only needed two brackets which i screwed to the floor.
one in the shape of a sorta U shape and the other a L.
only has three screws on the console to hold it in.
if u visit a wreckers (or look around at mates cars..etc) u can get an idea of what may or may not work.

Yeah like that except mine is in velour.. Same style though.. Oh and manual, so you have a velour boot that comes up around the stick.

Hehe, somebody needs to learn how to write web-sites that work properly in all browsers!
Shane,
Those first ones are for the TA22, I was going to link the xA23/28 ones, but their site didn't load the pictures in Mozilla the second time!

What about the heater vents under the dash, is there some way to redirect them into ur custom console, so maybe they blow out the sides or something. Also on that note, is there anyway to clean up or get a new heater control panel in the instrument panel, as mine is very faded and dirty.

I had Gen 3 prelude seats in mine - MMM adjustable - and probable the most comfy of the lot that ive sampled
nice blac velour too - so they didnt look out of place in black interiors
I still think the prelude seats were probably more comfy than my current Gt4 seats too

dudes, easy to shape - use that expanding filler stuff, then, sand it back to get to the shape you want and then cover with fibreglass resin! then cover with vinyl/velour/whatever turns you on?
rotatr - good idea that. 95 excel hey....might have to have a looksee at one and see if it can be hacked up and modified with some expand-a-foam. does the console take up the handbrake as well out of interest?
my mates sis has an oldish excel might be 95 model i'll grab the digi cam and take fotoze?
