Give Toyota a call, see what they have to say (I'd be interested to know too).

When i was "attempting" to hook up the seatbelts, i found one was slightly torn, and worn right down, and they wouldnt pass a roadworthy.

None of the aftermarket ones I've seen in auto stores are anything like early celica seatbelts, which have an extra little strap & one attachement that bolts to the seat.
Seeing as they are so important they should be giving out free replacement seatbelts I reckon.

i have the extension bit that goes from the rear quarter thing and cut my old frayed seat belt off, then i managed to find some new belts where the mount would fit through the metal loop on the extension as well as the old buckle fits on, so it almost looks proper

Ok, after enlisting my mum to do some searching on the internet, I got in touch today with a place called Prostreet Automotive in Castle Hill, & the guy I spoke to said they can get the bits needed to put together new seatbelt assemblies, which would cost from $60 to $120 per seatbelt.
I told him I'll prolly drop in next week & get some definite prices.
If anyone else is interested, the details of the place are:
Prostreet Automotive
G7/2a Victoria Ave
Castle Hill NSW 2154
