I think the fact that one is damaged is the main turn off. it certainly is for me. if they were intact,I'd have bought them by now. but $1k for three wheels, and especially where getting
a fourth to complete the set is near impossible in Australia, you may begin to see why you can't shift them.
personally,I'm going through Pro concept to buy a set of brand new magnesium versions for my car. it'll work out to be just over double the ask for your 3 2nd hand rims.

also.. this sounds a little bad..
but there are a lot of people out there who just want the 'look'..
considering you could buy knock offs for like 500 bux for 14 inches. some people aren't willing to pay that much...
obviously, they don't recognise the lightness, and performance of these rims...
but all the best with your sale aye...

Yeah ... guess it's the fact that more $$$ has to be spent on fixing the bent one.
FWIW, I bumped into another 20 valve Sprinter guy last Sunday who was running real Watanabe's - first time I saw them in person but it didn't help to find out that he bought them for $400 all up for a complete set back a few years ago before Initial D and Sprinters became popular ...

he does. and they look damn good I reckon. I hate him for it.
GSR18U:
I'll be ordering my wheels through an importer that works with Pro Concept. he specialises in Enkei, but can get anything.
I haven't made a bid on this set of watanabes, because I personally don't believe in re-rolling alloy wheels. aluminium doesn't like being bent... and magnesium likes it even less.
I know what new watanabes cost, but I just don't feel this set is worth the ask. if they were undamaged,I'd be VERY interested, but since they aren't,I won't even make an offer.
what they're worth to me is a lot lower than what you want for them.
regards,
Justin...

Maybe ... am trying to sell my Mystique 2 rims but if a right offer comes by for the BR's ...
Anyone who's interested can PM me if they want to make an offer ... I'll have to take good pics as well but I may still hang onto them as I've grown rather attached to their particular 'redness' ...

sometimes i ma just thinking that why everyone wants japanese wheels? like wanatabe or black racing or SSR?
i know they are good....
but i think Simmons are not bad too.....
u can get any size and offset u want...plus if u damaged 1 of your wheel during drift, u can just buy 1 and replace it easily...
as for the weight, they are as light as most jap wheels....
see the turbo 86 with simmons v4? they look nice.......
well...this is just mine opinion....i think this thread is hijacked anyway...
cheers....

Simmons make lightweight wheels?
they aren't much cheaper than japanese rims either. and if you damage one, forget buying the damaged part separately. it works out close to the price for buying a complete wheel...
their only advantage is that the factory is in Sydney,so they're easy to pickup. they don't do custom orders in a hurry though.
it's taken a friend of mine over a year to get his custom 17's from them to go onto his S15...
I'd personally pay the extra $100 a rim for japanese wheels to get the 4kg difference a corner...

if these are still available,I'll take them for $500.
that's what they're worth to me. if you'll sell them for that, give me a call, and we'll work it out.
I could use a spare pair of rims for track rubber.
