have to find this out myself
i think dorikan used a gemini radiator?
thetoyman75 got a custom one made out of checker plate. loox awesome.
i think i'll just get an additional core added to the stock celica size - mine will have a big arse thermofan on it for the 4AGE anyway

TA22 radiators are tiny (frontal surface area), so even an extra core may not be enough. I'd chuck in an upgraded RA23 radiator, but you'd need to hack the radiator support panel to make it fit.

I dont mind mofifying thing don't know about 'hacking'
What is better about the RA23,
I need the best perferiably off the shelf radiator that is reasonably easy to fit and fairly kind on the pocket, how about camry's or skylines etc

I suggested the RA23 radiator because it's much wider but the correct height for your car. With an extra core it should have no problems cooling a more powerful engine. Of course it depends what sort of engine we're talking here... it wouldn't keep a 2JZ cool for example!

My RA23's radiator does much too good a job at keeping my 4age cool, during winter I have to drive around with a bit of cardboard covering half the radiator.
Even during the day in moderate heat in traffic the temp only hovers around 92 degrees, which is when the thermo fan switches on. This is with the cardboard.
I'm thinking a water cooled turbo maybe the solution to my cooling problems.....

how much wider is an ra23 core? we talking mm or cm?
i was thinking of adding an extra core to my stock TA22 one - as i'm running an aftermarket earls oil cooler/remote filter.
joel, yes a turbo is a good idea....excellent logic dude!
tell me are you running an oil cooler on your 4AGE?

The RA23 radiator is quite a few cm bigger. Have a look in an RA23/28 engine bay and you'll notice straight away the radiator is much bigger.

My RA23 radiator is 540mm wide, by 370 high.
And yeah, I do plan to run an oil cooler, but just a factory type one.

I had a custom radiator built for mine
*Modified three core torana radiator.
You will notice that the front chassis rail in the TA22 celica curves up at each side, the Torana radiator has a bottom tank that fits this rail.
The hight of the radiator does need to be shortend so as to fit in the celica but is wide enough just to fit between the headlights, and have twin 10" thermo's on the back

If you want a better radiator and don't want to hack things use a custom aluminium one. They are 25% more efficient.
