yeppers, there seems to be a couple
the early 2T types use points/contact set (kettering style if you really wanna go there)
the 2tgeu uses a reluctor type with either the pickup and ignitor in the dizzy or the pickup in the dizzy and the ignitor externally.
my 2tgeu type on my 2t has the pickup/ignitor inside the dizzy so only + and - were required to go to the coil.

I am not too sure about the 2t series engines but the 18rg had different points to the 18r and the rpm advance weights were a different weight if I remember rightly.

The cases are also a different shape, the later 2TGEU dizzy's do not have a manual adjustment for a vacuum advance.

You can run into clearance problems on the side os Twin carbies or the efi trying to use a 2T Dizzy. And as already mentioned the weights are different.

Ok so some how i had a 2t dizzy on my 2tg, it fitted but i must admit there wasnt much room to move.

Is there a way to piss the dizzy off all together and use a crank angle sensor or something similar, i all ready have multi coils plus ignition module, i am using an ems so i can adapt to pretty much any thing, is there any power advantage with c/angle sensor

on ya grandma did u ask me,NO ? well i could have said that the dizzy was different and the weights were different but that shouldn't really matter to u because u don't need the vac advance as the ems should do that u only need the spark disperser so take the vac advance out and blank it off, weld the moving plate solid and use the reluctor witch u must already have.
ring me if u don't understand.

What i want to do is piss the dizzy off all together, your right eden, with the engine b4 the rebuild i welded the vac advance and also cut off that fine tune vac advance, it looked ugly, and i now want it semi show cond.

See, b4 i only had 1 coil and i needed the rotor button and chopper disk to throw the spark, now i have multi coils i dont need a rotor but i still need the dizzy because it has the optical chopper disk in it, so it looks funny with a dizzy with no leads comming from it.
