hey speedcore, you wanna see the papers??? i can drift my 86 pretty easily with a 4A-C (around 30kw at the wheels), and thats 75kw at the rear wheels (more than double the power), not flywheel, it is around 140hp at the fly wheel, which is plenty enuff especially for a 900kg FR car. And ohh yeh this thing can drift!!!! With ease.
Put it this way it can do 0-100km/h in 6.5 sec, with a new clutch and lightned flywheel it will do it under 6 secs.

Nah don't need to see papers, just perplexed as to a 20V punching out 140hp at flywheel when they are supposed to be 120kw/160hp odd from factory. True you can debate about power figures by toyota being read without ancilaries ie. alternator etc. but 140 hp at flywheel or just over 100kw just seems a tad low. I thought the TRD oil and radiator cap would have given you an extra 20-25kw! Very Happy Just joking man!!

Yeah just a bit confused as to the power figures and the 0-100 times with that sort of power!!

Hey,
Could u explain how u can drift a ae86 with a 4ac I really want to get my car sideways but finding it so difficult with the lack of power and lack of skill too. Also where did you get those wheels they are really nice because I'm after some wheels and how much was ur 20v convertion? Arn't u power figures a bit low?
Regards

you sure you are not trying to do a power understeer?

floor you car a bit...
understeer in the opposite direction relative to the corner...
then oversteer.. just before the corner...
countersteer.. while flooring the accelerater ... should give you a nice exit speed.

work well with the 4ac in the wet.

don't need too much HP for this technique.. need an LSD though.. or else too much of an entry speed could leave you wrapped around a pole...

rock on.

"Also where did you get those wheels they are really nice because I'm after some wheels"

i think they are VDLK rims, cheap and easily available, i dont think he could afford over $4000 for real VOLK TE-37's.

Hey so sorry guyz, havent been online for 2 days, ok to answer some questions,
firstly the car is my friends car, he is asking 16K for it now and he wont seperate the parts too.
secondly, speedcore, we are confused as well when we got the dyno results and it read 75kw and after that we tested the 0-100 and his best time is 6.33secs its strange but true. And the trd short shift should of gave it 12 kw at least too Razz
Thirdly, KoKo, you can drift the 4ac, personally i use the braking drift and inertia drift. The fastest i take corners is around 80km/h but i'm still learning, it takes lots of practice, i wont tell you my technique because everyone is different and is easy to lose control, find the right place to do it at the right time and keep practicing and you will create your own style, consider spending your $$$ on your suspension, LSD and brakes as they are the important things in the ae86, power is'nt really that much important, do it step by step. Once you have done them 3 things (suspension, LSD, brakes) u will feel much more confident taking the corners. And SHCAO, personally i feel more confident drifting in the dry rather than wet, because if i lose control i wont slide and wrap my self, so slower drifts are good in the wet but i would'nt advise higher speed drifts in the wet(very dangerous).
Finally, AZAE86, them wheels are original Rays TE-37 VOLK wheels, they are around $500 a rim, my friend Jason got them for $3000 with tyres. If anyone is serious about getting the RAYS wheels, write me an email levinkid86@hotmail.com and i know someone that can order them.

We have got the Rays VOLK TE-27 3.5kg rims here. If you dont beleive it go and weigh your wheels and see how much they weigh, and then come and weigh our wheels, no need to argue we are welcome to any test and race. All the parts we get are all original and genuine, no fakes or replica's.

no offence here....but is ur speedo accruate?
coz if u changed to 4.3 gear ratio and if u r still using the aus spec gearbox, it will show 100km/h on the speedo but the actual speed is around 85km/h......
and to be actural 100km/h it have to show around 115 km/h on the speedo..
so...just wondering if this is the correct 0-100km/h time...
