Dude, i don't know much about rear mounted 3sge/3sgte, but as in all cases i would say just get the turbo engine, don't upgrade.
Hosts of probs like compression (ie need forged pistons etc), engine managment :/
Hey, at least its something. I'd love to supercharge my 4age, but its better to save for the 4agze

It depends what you're talking about here. Do you want to turbocharge your existing engine? Not such a great idea, more trouble than it's worth.
Do you want to swap in a complete 3S-GTE from an MR2 half cut? That's a much better idea and turns out to be quite a cost-effective upgrade. It also means you get to keep your locally-delivered MR2 and don't have to "trade up" to a grey import with an unknown history.

Thanks for your replies guys. Norbie, do you know any Victorian dealers who would sell half cuts?

Sorry, I don't know of any in Victoria. Try the Yellow Pages, I'm sure there must be a few around.
