No idea - but the stock one ( same applies for 205's , supras and MR2's ) are absolutely F-ing useless .. A total and utter waste of precios cabin space they are ..
Its also like why they didnt put a BOV on the gt4's - another pointless Why! A simple bosch one would have done the job

stu...
leave the stock boost gauge alone
if you are installing an aftermarket gauge in the GT4 here are some basic instructions for connecting the vacuum line...
at the back of the intake manifold you will find a plugged nipple that is not being used.
remove the rubber plug and insert a vacuum hose of the right diameter - you may need an adaptor to then connect that hose to the smaller line that comes with the boost gauge (depending on what comes with the gauge).
run the line through the firewall grommett beneath the manifold, up under the dash and into the gauge.
wire up the gauge light to the dimmer.
boost gauge now installed!
...and you now have two seperate boost gauges with separate signals in case of failure (albeit one not very accurate )
let me know if you have any problems

lol... is anything on the gt4??
its not too bad... you can see it fairly easy and its a tight fit to slip your hand between the manifold and the firewall but should be ok... you might need long pliers or needle nose pliers
i had no major problem
just have a looksee and you should the plug i'm talking about

You need to do this to get easy access to the manifold

sweet
re: power supply
under the ignition you'll find a heap wires... doh!
there should also be a spare connector (used for fog lights?)
anyway i used this... i think the wires were green (positive) white (negative - dimmer)
wire in the gauge power supply to these and you'll get power to them as per your other gauges

well the guage is in - my hands are bleedin, back aching - and i have one hell of a stress related headache !
Someone told me this would be easy but NOOO - they forgot to consider the GREMLINS that always invade projects like this
Anyway - in a nutshell - i couldnt use the second vac line thats blocked off - hose wasnt big enough - so i spliced in a T peice off one of the other hoses - guage gets the job done - alas having a nightmare of a time fitting it
to install it in the corner near the apillar - i had to remodify the Speco Guage cup to give about another cm of clearance for the wires and hose for the boosg guage - REVERSE the way they screw the mounting brackets, curse at it alot to make it fit. Its in now - just have to wire up the little light as yet.
The car runs at a const and and steady 13PSI of boost at maximum Dial in , and seeing the speco guage is a combined vaccum/boost guage - 19 points of vaccum on idle
Dunno if this is meant to be right or not - so can someone shed some light on it ..
Anyway - heres a pic of it installed

thats basically what i ended up doing in the end - guage works fine now
Tried to go the other way first ( the plugged one ) but found the hose i had wouldnt fit ..
Most of the time taken was in actually PLACING the guage inside the car and getting that fitted right

now i just have to figure out why the guage internals rattle at maximum boost - the noise is annoying - dinno if its a small leak or a fooked guage though it operates fine - or seems to
