Im unsure exactly what it is though it came out of a TA22 1971 Celica. So it would be a 2TG then...but on the front it says 2TGEU. But now comes the strange thing..it only ever had side draft carby manifold 2x40mm solex...
So i really need some info on the engine - spec sheet
hey dude im doin the exact same and my motor has 2tgeu on the plate on the front of the motor their the same motor really ive got a manual for a 2tg how do you know that it only ever had carbs on it
To be honest you wouldn't know if it only ever had carbs on it unless you have had the engine for it's whole life !
these engines are over 25 years old now so there would have been a few changes to them over the years...
I have also found the mentioned site helpful on some stuff...
as for carbs or efi, it's presonal preferance... but you'd be doing very well to get a complete standard efi setup for one of these now... most came to Australia with the wiring looms cut in half andd no computers... but don't be scared off by that, there is other ways....
it only ever had carbys on it since we had it for about 6 years or so. my cousin did a engine swap to a 3tgte or a 4tgte so the 2tg was taken out and has been sitting in the shed ever since.
