I was looking around at short shift kits on the net this morning and although i couldn't find any in australia, they looked so basic... although i'm not exactly sure how they work, how hard would it be to get one made up? And where?

if you have the tools they are easy
the work by making the pivot point higher, and a longer shank below the ball
here is a pic

my brother made a very crude one for his moris 1100, ages ago simply using 2 gear sticks, a welder and the remains of a housing. It worked a treat but his welding wasn't the best and he didn't want to trust it for any long period of time, he probably would have made a beter one but I destroyed his car, but that's a different story entirely.
