Exhaust Problem

Hi guys,
Just bought my second SX rolla the other day and i have a question about the exhaust. My previous rolla had the stock standard exhaust, i don't particularly like loud exhausts thats why i hadn't changed it. I also didn't bother because i heard there is no real gains made by changing the exhaust on a 4AGE. Well my new one has had the exhaust done by the previous owner, he has put extractors leading to a 2 1/4 inch cat, then 2 1/4 pipeing (i think to big) to a resonator and muffler. I want to make it a little quieter, do you guys think if i just changed the rear muffler i can make it quiet? Or will i also need to put a more restrictive resonator on it?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

If it's got a full hotdog, then sure, putting on a stockie or even a half hotdog should quiet it down.
If it's got the room, you could probably put a larger resonator on too. Go see an exhaust shop.
At least they did the whole thing and not just a ricey cat-back job.
