Hi all. I want to change the colour of the gauges in the instrument panel of my 1996 Rav4. There are 4 bulbs that light up the speedo, tacho, fuel and temp gauges. Below is a pic of one of the bulbs.
The green cover sits over the bulb and this is what gives the gauges their green light. I tried some Narva silicone covers but they are either too big or too small for the bulb. The guy at Doncaster Autobarn where i got the covers said he hadn't seen that type of bulb before. I also showed the bulb to a sparky and he didn't have any covers for those bulbs.
So does anyone know where i can get some sleeves that will fit the bulb shown in the pic? The bulb in the pic is to scale. I would like to change the colour of the gauges to blue or white. If there's no covers available then anyone know where i can get replacement bulbs that come in different colours? Easy one...
Get some food dye... Or a polycarbonate paint from a hobby store. Has to be water based. And get a fine horsehair paint brush and paint the glass on the bulb... Cheapest. Most efficient. Saves u weight too
