if you're looking for serious mods (like a turbo) then you're better off going a gze transplant. by the time you add up your costs of trying to turbo the 4a-c it'll work out a similar cost for a gze, and you'll have an engine designed for it (plus fuel injection and twin cam!)

if you do the 4a-gze conversion, you'll need an EFI fuel tank and high-pressure fuel hoses
have a search on the forums, I'm sure that the cost of a 4a-gze conversion has been covered numerous times
