Need for drive shaft problem of AE86

Hi, any one,
I had exchanged a LSD diff into my oz spec AE86, but my mechanic found that the input shaft of the new diff is longer than the original one, this make the drive shaft had to be put 6mm toward the gear box (but the car still run ok). Should such situation will cause any damage? should I exhange a drive shaft from another model?
Help really appreciated.

I've heard that a T18 driveshaft fits perfectly, but you'd wan't to measure it up first.

hes not quite using the same set up as me Sam, what you need to do is take the back half of the T18 tailshaft and mate it to the front half of the AE86 shaft and it should be the perfect length.... the T series diff housing is just that little bit longer
Oh dont dorget to ballance the shaft after you put it all together
