Chassis: 1982 Hunter Rivmasta
Class: 2 (under 1650cc)
Engine: None at the moment! 100kw being dropped in to replace the datsun L16
Suspension: LONG!!! 16+ inches of travel in the front, 18+ in the rear.
Transaxle: VW Kombi 1800, no standard VW bits left in it. all aftermarket except the case!
Approx Cost: 25K.. and still going
Plans: move to stock 100kw 4AGE, then Motec, then 20V, then new chassis and a move up to open class with an SR20DET or similar.
We have actually replaced the entire car (everything! tanks, pedals, floor, panels, all suspension and steering, hubs, wheels, engine, box, lights, all wiring) and we now have a complete car in bits minus the chassis!

whats the story with the chasis design regulations?
i mean, from what ive seen, they all basically run an old combi trans axle gearboxs etc in that rimvista type chasis configuration...
is there some restriction enforcing this design?
why doesnt anyone rock up with a totally custom chasis, sporting basiclly a front wheel drive setup and suspension (modified of course) assembly mounted in the rear? then run a transverse engine configuration?
is this possible, or does it send you out of the class restrictions?
cheers
