Manifold leak between intake and exhaust? Generally this is the culprit for shit running 18R's.
You better send me that million........

I put in a new gasket the other day so there shouldnt be any leaks there, you should phone a friend and try again.

Check your fuel lines and filter. Check what condition the plugs are in too.
Could be a vaccum leak. Tighten that carby on more. But the gasket replaced was what? Just for the carby, or for the intake onto the head? (Which I think GT was getting at).

sounds like idle mixtures to me. an old carby has prolly worn out and you will never be abel to set the mixtures properly. carby rebuild or put up with it till the 18R- goes in

If you bring it around on monday, I will go for a drive and see what it is. And we will check ignition timing and stuff as well. But as others say, its probably a air leak of some sort.
