how soon is "shortly"? what are the centres made of, steel or aluminium? are they marked with degree indicators? Do you require 86kw 4AGE (with the holes) or 4AGZE type (5 spoke) gears for exchange?
Sorry for all the questions, but I'm quite keen...
cheers

Would these make much difference with stock cams? Or would it be better off waiting for a set cams then get adjustable cam sprockets?
thanks

bounty, 1jz/2jz maybe - if enough demand. getting hold of the spare cam wheels might be a tad difficult though. hks ones are $450 are they not?
te72(phil), shoud have the prototype set this week - then if they are ok, get the rest made up. center is made of 6061 t6 alloy.
exchange can be any 4age cam wheel, as i've run out of the early cam wheels, and all these ones will be the later 5 spoke type.
twincam-ke20, they will make a small amount of difference on stock cams (you will be able to move the torque curve around a bit) with aftermarket cams they are a necessity!!!

this week. maybe even today if i'm lucky.
now i obtained a set of 7mg and 1j (and even 1uz!) cam wheels on the weekend.
7mg will be quite easy to do, as they are very similar to 3sge. 1j similar, but not quite the same. (4age and 3sge very different!!)
necros - what gen of 3sgt? (i will check that they are the same as gen2)
custom / one offs like the 1j (same as 2j by the way) 7mg/t etc will be $300 exchange. (cam wheels are too difficult to get, and not worth buying from toyota let me tell you that!!!)

got the new cam gears.
they now have two dowel positions, and degree marks on them. have not paid for them yet, but have been told there will be an additional charge for the extra work. (and if i have to pay more - so will you!!) look pretty good though!
they are now a direct replacement for the inlet and exhaust cam wheels.

ok the extra work cost me an additonal $10, so i'll just pass it on.
so exchange they are $260, outright $290.
i have some rather poor pics of them if anyone wants to see (hey i borrowed a $100 digital camera, what do you expect!)

yes it's a poor pic!!
if you look closely at the rh camwheel, about 11o 'clock you can just see the degree markings on the edge of the alloy section (2 degree increments)

hi eviljack,
i have an exhaust cam gear to suit a 20v here. they are a different offset to the 16v ones, but can be made adjustable. can make the inlet cam adjustable too, but that removes the vvt part. not sure whether it is possible to make them adjustable and vvt, until someone loans me an intake gear to play with!!! (you offering?)
