Shafted by the insurance company!!! Thu, 19 June 2003 10:38 Go to next message
I was in a acco the other day on my motor bike RGV250 it wasnt my fault and hes been charged for it. Now the company A##I wants to write my bike off. Market value ($3500) the quote to fix it was $3000 and the company only wants to give me $2270 plus the bike with no rego. Then they wont pay me for my damaged riding gear as i dont have the recipts and the gear was in good condition before the crash. Can i sue the driver for the cost of fixing the bike and my motorcycle gear and bypass the company??? The damage to the bike is only cosmetic the bike has custom paint and graphics thats why so much DOES ANY BODY KNOW A GOOD SOLICITOR OR IM I GOING TO GET SHAFTED .I want to keep the bike on the road as its my pride and joy i dont want to sell it PERIOD.any ways my number is 0422948007 if u know a good lawyer ps how do i put a pic up of the bike???

can you get an independant valuation o your bike? get one and send to insurance company. all insurers tend to be pricks by offering a small sum initially, be patient if you can and demand more, surely a new helmet will also be required, so charge them for that. if the other guy is in the wrong then it shouldn't be too hard to get arround what you want (less about 10%ish). this is just from what i've learnt over the years, but good luck with it all, and remember that if it's any consolation, you're still alive!

you really have to hound them about the getting the new statement sent out, i had expensive sound gear in my car, never got stolen but it took about 3 months to get a new statment to say my gear was covered.
