Would RA Celica Disc or MA61 (Rear) fit the AE86? Thu, 19 June 2003 17:00 Go to next message
anyone's ever thought of that conversion ? I mean they would be relatively cheap to buy but can they be made to fit the AE86 (i.e. replacing the drums) I have no clue on this topic so any help would be great.

checked out the past threads geez there is alot to read...

The AE86 is live axle while the MA61 is IRS, so it won't fit without a lot of effort. It could be done though!

I'm putting MA61 type IRS in my KE35 so I'd imagine you could do it in an AE86.

However, IMHO its not worth it.... better to stick with the layout you have and go from there.

Live axle is where the diff goes straight across, all as one. In IRS, the diff centre is fixed and the axles going to either side of the car are separate. So within reason they move totally indepently up and down to each other.

If you want diff conversion options for your AE86, so a search on previous topics. This would have to be THE most popular topic on ToyMods and it's been done to death!
