Build no. 331?
I thought the Carlos Sainz edition in Australia was numbered 001 - 150?
Have you made a typo? (or has Toyota Australia been telling us fibs about how many of these are in existance?)
Anyways, nice looking car dude!

Did this come from the UK or something?
I heard that's where the other 350 cars went, a total of 500 Carlos Sainz built, 150 to Australia, 350 to the UK and Britain I think.

Wasn't taking a dig at you, or your car, it's an awesome machine, and well worth what you're asking.
And yes, sorry, you are right, 5,000 made world wide. I found this quote from some website, doesn't mention the AUS deliveries though.
Quote: | In developing this latest version of the Celica GT-Four, Toyota set out to provide Toyota Team Europe (TTE) and its leading drivers, Carlos Sainz and Markku Alen, with reliable and ultra-competitive machinery with which to contest the 1992 World Rally Championship. The previous GT-Four rally car had already set the highest standards, winning five championship rallies last year and five more in 1990, the year in which Spaniard Carlos Sainz lifted the World Championship.
In homologating the Celica Turbo 4WD Carlos Sainz for international rally competition, Toyota had to produce 5000 examples of which 3000 have been allocated to Europe and of these, only 440 are available in the UK.

Good luck on the sale mate! Looks great!

EEK! I just peked at tonys website ( www.cruiseclub.org.au) and its associated with the baptist church ..
in the toy nats pics section theres a picture of my old ta22, now owned by jezz - that car commited WAY too many driving sins to be featured on a church related site !! * jokes *
Nice site tony - you've got a pretty group A too ! A lot cleaner than my mudpuppy St185 grey-thing

Congrats on the sale dude! Wow, that's a pretty good price you got, but still a good bargain for your friend considering all the gear you've put in it. I don't think I'd attempt a drag against your GT4, let alone whatever car you have now (Toyota?). My Grp A's as stock as a rock, plus if no.331 is a Japanese market car, it has 20kw more than an Aus delivered car to start with due to a more aggressive fuel mapped ECU.
