I'm not that keen on the look & feel of my T-bar auto. Now, given that overdrive on the MA-61 is a seperate button on the cosole, I was thinking of using a manual shifter and dissabling the lockout feature on the auto. I can't imagine I could ever accidentally knock the shifter with enough force to jam it into reverse while on the move, so am thinking that this could be OK.

Is it a really dumb idea? Have I missed something obvious? Is there anything in the ADR's that could get me defected for this?

cheers,

if your complaint is about the T bar style, then go for the Commo or falcon style either the pistol grip, or the rolled top thingy with the lock under it...

dunno, just an idea...

An auto trans will go into reverse while moving. And its not only reverse. what if you clicked back to 1st accedently doing 100.
