Cressida running 5.4's 0-100 Sun, 22 June 2003 16:09 Go to next message
Did about 4-5 runs on the dyno plus up in newcastle.. and running pretty much standard boost ( meaning it was 10psi but creeps around to 12 when reving hard ) i ran 4 consistant 0-100kph in the 5.4 braket.

Pretty happy!! Time to boost the baby up now its finally running well.... on and take out the 100kgs i had in the passenger seat Wink.. just kidding.. i need the extra traction! Smile

Have you run it on another dyno? Different dynos tend to give different results. I think its time to get a friend with a stopwatch Very Happy

Very impressive though Smile most cars that get around those times probably cost 4 times as much in standard form.

the dyno plus is a gtech... its dead on with times... I was stopwatching my car the other night and getting similar times.
Time to boost up and run into the 4's hopefully... i think Joey's cressida did a 4.8 best 0-100

You'll be up against $352,000 AMG CL55 with its 5.0L v8 supercharged.

Jason.. give me a buzz.. we can run up to newcastle and do some tests together... its mad fun. The little rolla would have to be in the 4's easy on slicks... next time u run at the creek i'll see if paul can bring down the Gtech for your creek runs.

hey les.. if the cressida was outside uni lodge i wasn't doing a gig Razz hehe

Traction is easy in an auto with good tires man... I get about 4-5 psi off the line and it hardly churps, its all hang on and boom! Auto's are great for starts.

I'm just pissed it wasn't running like this in dubbo, i would have supprised people in the 1/8th! Now the search for huge top end!!

225/45/17 Michelin Pilots or something.. have to go down and look at the exact name... they are sticky Smile

The cressida really launches well though, it squats and grabs, and whats even better is the consitancy, i can do those times day in day out.

LSD. If you're after one for your car, get one from a Grande (Good luck) or get the hemisphere from an MA70 Supra and have it swapped into your existing diff...

The MA61 seems to be the only LSD direct bolt in replacement for the 73 but they're a pain in the arse to source. I could only find 1, it was in melbourne and the guy wanted $660 plus $100 shipping...F*#k that! But now that mine has its 3rd standard diff and second 5m-ge I'm starting to realise that the LSD may have been a good investment Crying or Very Sad

Did a few runs in the heavy Soarer last night. I've got a Trust speed meter hooked into the ECU, so I imagine it's a fair bit more accurate than a G-Tech.

Anyway, after a few runs (flat road, opposing directions etc.)
I managed 5.38, 5.47, 5.40 sec 0-100km/h runs (pretty consistent). Rather impressive for a car that weighs 1750kg full of fuel and me sitting in it (and some car stereo gear).

Les, my only mods are 3" exhaust and HKS intake... and the car is auto!

if its hooked up to the ecu it could be out more that the g-tech.

on a wet night i could floor it and my wheels would spin, which would give me a much faster 0-100 time

Got you there Luke. Managed a best of 4.77 on my skinny arse street Hankooks.
Note - passenger + 3 x spare tyres (two were strangely bald) + tool boxes and all race ready at 1200+kG. If it was any heavier than last night then it may as well have been a Cressida Laughing

Did a 0 - 100 on the old scale in mid 10 bracket.
Traction? yes please! Cos I didn't have much of it.

sticky tyres make a BIG difference, especially launching with a light car & manual gearbox. with michelin street tyres, best I can manage in the T18 is a 4.87, but with dunlop formula R's I can get that down to 4.60. Warm slicks would be even better!
