nah, you can drift a bike 'reasonably' easily. particularly with thin tyres like that. we used to 'drift' our DH mtb's (2.35" 2.7" DH tyres!) like that down the road at mt buller
twas pack-your-pants territory for sure!
ill go dig up some images of nathan rennie sliding in the dirt - now he is 'tha man' when it comes to laying a bike down...

I've got some pretty mad videos of guys coming down loose dirt. They basically have the rear wheel locked and slide down the whole way like that.

a cycling friend of mine one did a burnout on his bike, layed some bleach down and actually managed to spin the wheel continually for about 15 seconds... producing one of the smallest, but funniest burnouts i've ever seen
