Help, suggestions! Mon, 23 June 2003 09:06 Go to next message
Gday fellas,

Im new here, and im posting cos I need some help. Im no car expert, so i need all your expertise Razz

Ive just bought an '86 celica sx (manual). Its in great condition, inside and out - had it checked by the mechanic, who said it was great condition for its year, with 170,000kms. All that it needed done was new tyres and back breaks.

It goes pretty hard, but I want to give it a bit more grunt. I know its just begging for an exhaust, but i want some suggestions on what I can do other than putting a new engine in (im on a budget! only a student) to give it some more power. Some mates have suggested a pod filter and a 2.5" exhaust, what you guys rekon?

cheers.

do you take the engine to high rpms alot? these mods will actually loose a little hp in lower rpm to gain more in top end. You will loose a lot of low end torque too due to less back pressure.
