$50? hmmm, what is the date of manufacture (the sticker on the back?)
it looks like a plastic cup type...
seriously tho man, i got all my NEW VDO gauges for $20 each, with senders. if it is a period piece (ie early 70's) i'd consider $50....
can you get me a pic of the back of the tacho?

NEW VDO gauges for $20? who stole those for you?
I've bought two new VDO gauges in the last week, and at trade rates they cost me $170 total. that's for two electronic gauges, with senders for each. oil pressure to 100Psi,and water temp.
$20 each is fairy land...even without the senders.
unless they're second hand OEM,from the 70's...

LOL
http://www.materials.unsw.edu.au/~sford/vdogauges. jpg
all under $20 each, with senders where applicable, NEW IN BOX, not second hand, but i admit they are old versions.....
they are (in order) Amps, water temp, vacuum, oil pressure.
since then i have also gotten an oil temp gauge, and also fuel pressure gauge....
all you have to do is look around and be in the right place at the right time...
if the tacho was made bewteen 70 and 74 (pre-plastic ones) and was in good working order, then maybe $40 would be fair...
i like living in fairyland means i don't have to fork out stupid amounts of money for goods that aint worth it... how many hyundai excels have you seen with Autometer monster tachos with shift lights (torches )???? heh heh, fairyland

seeing as I can't find a pic of it on the page listed,I can't say. if it's in good nick,I don't see why $50 wouldn't be a reasonable ask.

Doing a bit of post-jacking here.
Although it is sold now, there was a new speco gauge (8000 RPM) that was on ebay.com.au Some fella bought it and realised it wasn't compatible with his car. The last time I looked it was around $70.
So judging on that $50 is probably top dollar. I would say $30 would be fair. But that is only my opinion.
