Torsen type two diff? Mon, 23 June 2003 23:12 Go to next message
Hi to all.
I saw on Bill Sherwood's site that some of the Toyota cars have factory LSD (1990 and later, or so). How much torque/power can they stand?
Can somebody tell me what are these models, and were they sold in Europe?

Thanks!

Uros

As for power handling, a lot of drivers in the States are making MAJOR power on their stock rear ends in JZA80 Supras.

I don't know much about east west engine/trans riggs but would these 6.7" torsen LSD diffs be able to be put in a solid rear axle housing from an RA28 celica.

Thanks for the info!
One more question: What do those letters and numbers actually mean? Smile
I don't really know anything about Toyotas. I drive/tune/race Fiats, and we lack good LSdiffs, so I thought I can find a wrecked Toyota with that Torsen LSD and somehow put it in a fwd gearbox...
So, can you tell me a simpler way of identifying a Toyota with a torsen diff?

Thanks again!

Toyota G-series (or A as they evloved into) would not fit in a FWD application. But as they say, got the $$$$ and you could.

Try a Honda, some of the B16a & B18c powered civc's & integras have helical LSD and are FWD. Or even H22a Preludes might.

Although that may post a problem, cos Honda engines spin "back to front".

But they are also the other way around!!

and depends on what way around the diff is in the GB.

Bloody FWD's!
