I know the engine is a 1uz but what gearbox is it using for the 4wd? (Landcruiser?) I'm assuming that the eng is still north-south..?
So if the same chasis was used for a 2jz, a 2/3uz?? (4.7L) and the 4wd 1uz would it be poss. to get a 4WD Aristo front cut and use/engineer the steering components etc to create a V8 4WD (even TT if u had the $$$) sleeper Shocked Laughing

I realise that whatever the recipient vehicle is it will need some pretty hefty engineering to get rego but atm Im more interested in in size/part specs of the Aristo and any suggestions as to a likely contender for conversion.

Thanks heaps,
Andrew

After looking at the front subframe which came out of my Aristo front cut, I think you'd have a very hard time making it work in anything but an Aristo. My front cut was from a 2WD car, but it was obvious the front hubs had been designed with 4WD in mind.

Thanks Norbie, I was hoping you might be able to help. Smile
Would some kind of cut/weld/re-engineering of the hubs be too far fetched? Any guesstimatation on the engineering costs for something like that?

This is still a pipe dream but from what little i've been able to find re: RWD to 4WD this seems to be one of the more fesable options.

The 4WD Aristo uses a 2JZ-GTE engine... I think it's the V300 special from TOMS.

FWIW, Rolin's are getting a 1UZ with an automatic 4WD gearbox arriving in their shed soon.

There certainly is a 4WD Aristo, but it doesn't come with the 2JZ-GTE engine. AFAIK the 4WD version only comes with the 1UZ-FE.
