MA61 Supra wont crank! Tue, 24 June 2003 07:42 Go to next message
I fiddled with the fog lights to get them working again which involved playing with some fuses and releays.

Now the car refuses to start.

There is spark at the dizzie.

The engine does not crank.

Makes a funny magnetic spark type sound from the starter.

Digi dash flashes when trying to start.

Has my starter died in the ass or have i screwed up some fuses?

Can anyone tell me the correct fuse order from under the little fuse boxinthe engine bay

DOH!

give the starter solenoid a good whack? then try again?

it sounds like either the battery isnt supplying the current, or the starter is sucking too much current.

maybe that the starter solenoid is on the way out?
may also be that you earthed something (for just a little while), and damaged the battery plates, meaning they cant provide enough curerent to crank?

if simply whacking the starter solenoid a few times with an extension bar and a hammer gets you nowhere, grab your dads battery, and try that.

then report back?

cheers

Battery yes. (working on headlights and fogs all day eh!)

Didn't strike me as being the battery, as everything seemed to work fine including the fast glass which ususally slows when the battery dies. Clutch start and away she goes!

I found it amusing when it was sugested to whack the starter like that.
