Canberra guys: who's going to the Dyno Day? Tue, 24 June 2003 12:37 Go to next message
So who's heading up for the Toymods Dyno Day on Sunday 6th July? Maybe we should arrange a convoy of cars to drive up together. Anyone entering their cars?

Cheers
Phil

Phil

If your taking your beastie, I might have to take a car full of CCG guys in the XR8 for support. Would be great to see how the T18 turns the treads and get to meet up with the TOYMODS guys!

Ahhhh but do I have the time??? Anybody interested in a convoy.....CCG or otherwise???

Cheers.

Mitch,

If you're taking the XR8 up, and I could hitch a ride I'd be keen to go up... I don't think my 23 would make it Sad

I am keen and at this stage it looks like I will have the car ready for the dyno day (fingers crossed). Lots of late nights this week, and a busy weekend should have it ready (also provided I can get it tuned some day next week). A convoy trip would be cool, what sort of time would we have to leave on Sunday 6th and would we just meet at the Shell on Norhtbourne near EPIC?? Bags not leading the way through Sydney either I get lost too easy!! Laughing

So How many people are interested in going up in convoy?

Also to enter the car do we have to let anyone know in advance or is it show up and pay on the day?

I cant find anything on this site to say that you need to pre-enter. Please let me know if you know otherwise!

The day starts at 8:00am. If you plan to enter, then I guess you need to be there at that time, so we'd have to meet at shell gateway at about like 5am in the morning!

I'm keen though, so let me know if you're serious about going, and we'll arrange to meet up.

Shane: Do you need a hand at all over the weekend?

Cheers

Phil

Yeah actually I think I will enter in it, I wouldn't mind knowing if the few engine mods I've done have helped it in anyway or if I have just wasted my time and money. Ha Laughing

Are you entering are you Phil? I don't really mind the 5am leave. It will be worth it.

Hi again all,
thanks for offering to lend a hand Phil, but after a week straight of staying up late (midnight and later) its real close to being finished, so it should be all good, thanks for the offer anyway. 2 good days of work over the weekend and barring any unforseen problems (which always occur) it should be good to go early next week. I have got my 7MGTE injectors and other bits and pieces so it's all happening.

5am at the Shell servo sounds good.

I will post an update on here when I have got the car tuned and on the road. Hopefully there are a few keen for a convoy.

Cheers,

I better get back to it.........

Shane.

So far it all looks good for Sunday, I had the car running last night and it gets tuned tomorrow. I just have to fit some seats tonight and I can take it for a spin.

See you all at 5am Sunday. I will check this post one last time on Saturday evening for any last minute changes etc.

Shane.

hey Shane

Good to hear you got it running mate. Is it hard to get it to idle with decent mixtures with the big injectors & microtech?

I'll give you a call if anything changes for sunday, but 5am at shell gateway is still the go. let me know if you cant make it, so I dont hang around waiting!

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Just had the car tuned, very happy with how it drives. It seems to idle as smooth as the factory computer did, and so far it starts easy too, so I am happy about that. Looking forward to the drive on Sunday now. Barring an unfortunate catastrophy to person or car I will see you on Sunday. I have your number Phil in case of any dramas.

Hi,

I gave the KE25 (4AGTE) a hit on the Dyno and it made 168.9kw (under 1800cc forced induction class), I was happy with that. The drive up and back was good fun too, haven't had a chance to drive it for a while. I think the only other guy I spoke to from down this way was a guy with a V8 soarer who cranked out about 140kw.

I think that was it from the Canberra area.

Cheers
Shane.

Crazy shit. Mitch I just found out you know that guy Rob I was saying with the ST162. His car cranked out 79.6kw at the wheels. Ohh baby try that on Ben....

Now I feel ashamed... Embarassed

Although, I'll make it oneday.

Re: Canberra guys: who's going to the Dyno Day? Mon, 07 July 2003 12:47 Go to previous message
yep, Shane kicked my ass with the KE25! Congrats to you mate, you've got an awesome package there. Very Happy The tie down arrangement for the dyno left a bit to be desired, both of our cars required a few bodies in the boot/hatch to stop wheelspin Shocked, and a few of the big hp cars nearly tried to jump off!

Most impressive in the under 1800 forced induction class was another 4AGTE pulling 207kw!!

I also managed to screw my clutch on the day. Crying or Very Sad Dont you love pulling gearboxes out on a cold garage floor late at night in Canberra?

Cheers

Phil
