I've heard some bad things about them, but, I got a SC12 from them and they were completely professional.

I can say nothing but good things about Jap motorsport! I hardly buy anything from them, but I ring them all the time just for tech info and they are always keen to help out! And when they cant help me they always put me onto someone who can! Some of their prices are not the best but you can always talk them down.

look at them like any other wrecking yard would be my advice.
check out anything you buy beforehand personally, and assume that there is no warranty.
a good friend of mine bought a set of TEIN coil overs from them several months ago,for $1800. a month after they went into the car,the N/SF damper collapsed. a pair of replacements cost him $1700,which works out to be a total of more than he could have bought a brand new set for. I fitted them for him both times for nothing,so that lessened the blow some.
sometimes second hand stuff isn't worth the risks for a small saving in price.
Justin...
p.s. I also reckon Denzo needs to grow up some.

I guess it depends on who you talk to but if you are spending money they are friendly, if not.... well they would get a lot of big talking/low spending time wasters in there. I got a JZA-70 front cut from them and it was $4,500 for a manual with 147,000 km's on it (but it's a manual!)and it came with a HKS blow-off, strut brace, Momo wheel and all panels in OK condition (except bonnet). It also came with the first tailshaft and the exhaust was unbolted, not cut through, so it all bolted straight up!. The engine mounts were fucked, the turbo seals are starting to leak (but this is common at high km's) and few other minor things such as leaking power steering pump etc. But my car now goes pretty fast . If you want to do a conversion to a 1jz I really suggest a front cut. They are in Adelaide though, and if you are in Melb surely there would be a local place without the freight hassles.

Melbourne suck for anything to do with Toyotas, especially Supra.
EKW is meant to be the biggest one in Melb or one of the biggest in Australia according to them and they havent got a single 7M engine, 1JZ or even a 1G engine!!!
I've been there like (Lemme think) 11 times since I got my Supra, which was 3 months ago or more?? And everytime I go there, the same guy says 'NOPE!!!! Had one in last month and sold that straight away' (I was there 4 times that last month and he said they didnt get any in. LIAR!)
Also that same guy said he doesn't take orders ... and the last time he was a real rude asshole, so I asked him if he could buy an engine from one of the wreckers in NSW or QLD and he almost cried and said he doesn't buy from other wreckers. Then I told him that they were the shittest wreckers I've been to, which they are coz they have NOTHING!
I also went to BIP Toyota and they had 1JZ engines but they looked to be in the shittiest condition I've ever seen an engine. Anyway, he wanted $4500 with auto for just the engine package. Later he goes 'I'll do it for $4200 for you'... Everything he had was expensive, like he wanted $500 for MA70 tail lights, and I was like 'THATS EXPENSIVE MAN!!!' and then he goes 'Do you want to buy anything coz I don't want to waste my time?' and then I go 'Do you want to be any ruder coz I don't want to buy anything from a rude cunt. Looks like that 1JZGTE will stay there for a few more years' and then he said sorry and I walked out.
Anyway, nothing local...already tried.

$500 for MA70 tail lights? I'm sure the genuine Toyota ones are cheaper (especially if you need only one).

You have to be quick for anything these days! - I was waiting for ages and tried some other places (people never ring back) so I called Japanese Motorsport out fo the blue and they said one was arriving next week but some-one was sending a check for the deposit. When I offered cash deposit that day - well, first in best dressed! The check arrived 2 days later and they had to send it back! It's a risk tho' coz you haven't seen it before you buy it. Re: Melb EKW advertise a full range of Toyota motors - but I guess it's just B.S. Are ichiiban in Melb? I've heard of people getting stuff from them. Also the QLD guys always seem the cheapest, but when you add freight (and the fact you can't take it back!) it doesn't always work.Good Luck! And jza-70mel is right - you would be surprised at how cheap SOME parts are from Toyota. Much cheaper than Nissan parts!

Yeh, thats if u can actually get Toyota to order parts for you. Mines an import so they didn't wanna know about it. Anyway, for the door handle clips on the door trims, costs around $15. You know those little plugs??
Anyways...Freight is around $300 but I dunno, if I knew someone in QLD it would be good so I can get them to check it for me. I think Ichiban is in Adelaide or SA anyway???
Japanese Import Dismantlers have gotten back me with this price list. Seems okay to me...
1ggte $1550 auto package 7mge $1495 auto package 7mgte $1750 auto package 1jzgte $2650 auto package
I'd prefer to find one in Adelaide because I'm willing to drive all the way there and get it.

All I will say is that after comments from Japanese Motorsport, or more particulary one of the main operators of it, towards a car club i am involved in, 70 performance orientated car enthusiests in WA will not touch them with a 10 foot pole, me included.
To hear such immature comments come from a so called "profesional" workshop, it was quite amazing.
They have had some good stuff I would love to buy, such as the VR4 cooler on their site atm, but I will not buy from them out of principle.
I thought I would post so you get both sides of the story.
Cheers Mike

What was said? To who??
I havent bought anything off anyone yet coz I havent found what I want...
But Asian Auto Spares were very customer oriented...like I could hear beeps and stuff on his line indicating he got another call, but he stayed on the line with me and wasn't even upset when I told him at the end that I would think about it. A JZA70 front cut for $2000 seemed too cheap when others were going at double that.
Theres a place in Perth too that was really good and found me a front cut for $3700, but I told him it was out of my price range for now...then he got rude.
SSS Automotive never answer their emails...
I dunno if that is cheap for a front cut...maybe it is coz Jap Motorsport want $2000 or something for an engine package. As for service, they replied my email that very day and they wanted me to come in and talk about it...because I asked them to get me parts that I need to change from NA to TT. SO I think they wanted to see what parts I had and what I would need, but $1950 for a front cut is perhaps a figure for some idea.

Should just say my cousin bought some 180SX panels from them after he wrecked his car. Saved a packet on new etc and they were v.helpful. As I said - if you are spending money!
