Hehehe....yep it's being written as we speak. I have some more pics too.
I wanted the other 5 pistons but get this, the Lexus boys told me Holden have been buying them for some 'special project'!

They were saying Holden as in GMH! I looked thru the ACL catalogue and the only thing that's close is the RB30 and the Astra/Vectra motors, but they're a lot shorter in the compression height.
So I am stumped.

Holden's new V6 is due for series 2 VY Commodore. Ok, before you read this, make sure you're sitting down.
It will be a 4 valve quad cam all alloy motor. Wow, Holden will finally be using technology from the second half of last century. I'm sure some things will stay the same though, and like all Holden 6 cylinders it'll come with factory fitted oil leaks. (Holden - leading the world in oil-less engine technology)
But seriously, it's supposed to be built in versions from 2.8 litres to 3.8 litres. Just a guess but maybe it has something to do with that motor?

I should have sat on the ground! Good stuff.
Dave, it might be possible that's what they are doing, but you'd think they'd have nutted that out by now!
Ed, no probs dude. Go out for nosh or something.

Does anyone recall the document on the laptop at Garrett labelled "Holden 3.2L Turbo.doc" ?
I think there's something to think about...

The new engine for the Commodore is going to be pretty awesome. Its already being used in one spec for the current Rodeo, and it was used in some Isuzu concept car, and that was quick!
They are tipping a 200kW output for the Executive...now that would be different! Especially if they can keep the weight advantage over the Falcon...although they could REALLY do with some decent suspension.

I'll be popping one into a test block I have and will see if the valves clash with the pistons.

Does the VVTi piston have just as much meat in the top of the piston as the non-VVTi one??
If so could you enlarge the flycuts with out comprimising the piston???

dave, you have any idea what kind of piston/valve/head clearances you can run with the 2jz?
ive been told (confidently) 0.035" on the 7M, but are the 2j rods any better?
cheers
