3T-GTE head gasket Sun, 29 June 2003 00:48 Go to next message
When replacing the 3T-GTE head gasket should you put any gasket goop on the head and block?
And does anyone know what to torque the head up to?

Thanks.

You shouldnt need gasket sealant on any part of the head gasket, unless you're using a copper one....

I emailed a comlete list of 3TGTEU engine assembly torque settings from the factory toyota manual to Max (Nark) months ago for hosting in the Articles section of the Toymods webpage, but he doesnt seem interested in sharing it Smile I'll see if I can find them for you.

Cheers

Phil

Do not put any spray or goo on graphite head gaskets as this will stop them sealing , You can use a sealer like coppercoat or hylomar on steel , copper and non graphite gaskets .
