Hey MA70Supra,
I may well be interested if the price is right and you don't mind sending it to Perth. If it won't be ready until end of July/early August then that actually suits me nicely
I'm not interested in the auto trans, but I would take the rest off your hands (motor, ecu, loom, IC, etc).
I plan to swap it for the 1G-EU in my GA61...
What sump layout does it have? (front, mid, or rear bulge in the sump)
What year is it? What version 1G-GTE is it?
(check http://www.toymods.org.au/1g_versions.html)
Let me know, and if it's all good then we can PM to discuss $$$.
Cheers
Adrian

Adrian,
You should use the sump and oil-pickup from the 1GEU on the engine. The 1GGTE one is most likely to be mid-rear. The front one has better baffling anyway so I'm told.

MA70Supra, Sorry for highjacking your post.
Evil_Foetus,
I'm in the process of getting this conversion done.
I'm looking at around $7k for everything, the labour will be around $2.5k.
I managed to find a GA70 halfcut through CVA, one of this forum's sponsors. They were very helpfull.
If your car is currently a manual your looking a few other parts, like pedalbox. There are alot of auto 1G-GTE half cuts around if it isn't.
Also you will need a EFI feul tank or a Surge tank, I was lucky cause the RA65 already has EFI so I didn't need this.
All this info I managed to get by searching the forum.

KMAN
I think the G and M keys must be too close on your keyboard either that or you know more about Supra's than Toyota themselves. I'm pretty sure that if a compliance plate from Toyota say's MA70 it aint a GA70. Thank f... you don't print number plates for a living.
Majorbooger
Have no problems sending to Perth if you pay the freight. it is a rear bulge in the sump and is the 2nd version of the 1G-GTE with yellow ecu plug 9psi standard. As for price as it says make an offer.
Evil_Foetus
Have no idea about what you would need for the RA60 celica but if it doesn't sell for the right price I will let you know as that is what I will be putting it in.

You may not think they came out with one the 1G but thats your choice more than happy to email you a picture of the engine and compliance plate. The chassis number is MA70 and it has the 1g you do the sums

Dude, if your chassis number says MA70, then thats fine and dandy, but there is no need to lash someone because they pointed it out. The first letter in a Toyota model code is named after the engine family. Hence 1G = GA70 or 7M = MA70
It looks like at some stage someone has retrofitted a 1GGTE into your MA70 chassis at some stage.

My apologies to everyone, so within reason everyone is correct, I guess at one stage, some freak thought it would be a genius idea to put an engine that is seriously underpowered for such a heavy car in the place of something that was probably just as sad. Hopefully I didn't piss to many people off as I was only interperating what I had in front of me.

Hey if it comes to it and hasnt sold in a few weeks i mite be quite interested! Im in SA, adelaide, could come have a look some day if youre not too distant?? hehe.. Im sorta looking at these motors for a different project in the not too distant future, but not really desperate to buy..
Also, is there anything done to the motor ??? or is it standard?
Is it the Air Flow Metre model?
Is 150,000 the number of k's on the car's clock then??.. or is that how long since that motor went in?? cos it obviously replaced the 7M at some stage, but who knows..
hows the auto transmission??
How often would you say you have changed the oil in the engine?? What do you use?
Oh and where are you located approximately?..
I just got a new job a few weeks ago so if its still around i'll make an offer..
CHEERS
