My New Ride : Plz don't be bias... It's a Nissan

Ok. today i picked up a Nissan Exa 1989 model for $1700.
Things wrong with it:
something with the engine. cracked head, or head gasket.
need new back tyres
need new front shocks
need struts for teh hatch
apart from that everything else seams to be sweet. interrior is perfect and there is no leaking in the t-tops.
It's metallic maroon in colour.
what do you guys think?

Ca18det will be the engine mod.. sr20det is too hard to fit and more modifications are needed. the ca18det is basically a straight fit.
sterio and engine will be my 2 main mods for the vehicle, but sterio will come 2nd after the engine as i already have all the stuff. just time to save up for teh engine.

hmmm Exas... every time I see one I feel like I am looking at my opposite number in a boxing ring. I have a "must beat" feeling rising in my accelerator half of my brain.
They have the targa top. I will give them that.

I think that the problem with your engine is the fact that it is a Datsun.
Nah, only joking
I hope that it gives you much pleasure.

maybe your cars can beet the exa's. but i reckon i know a lot of exa's that can beet your cars. Remember there's always 2 sides to the story.
i've driven them before and i reckon they go really hard. They do beet a lot of things.

in my opinoin
EXA'S are fine as a transport car, good car, small and easy to park, decent power for its size. a good car. but
but PLEASE dont put on it
18inch chrome mags
3inch exhaust
low springs
stickers ect
or people will think your a tossbag (people like me anyway)
ps if anyone likes mirror chrome i apologise, i guess its usefull if you want to be able to look at yourself while your polishing them.

there is only one wierd thing i've seen for an exa
at the back where the hatch end of it is - was sorta like a "panel van" extension that goes on there.
very very very wierd looking, not sure how practical, but very unique.
go the kn13!

ok. lets see if i can remember the planed mods to the car.
Ca18deT engine
3" exhaust ... or what ever is practical.. might only be 2.5"
17" wheels
lowered an inch or so
interrior done up.
sterio installed (from out of the supra and into the exa)
body kit (maybe)
lots more that will be done when i actually get the car and can see waht i can do with it.
I must admit... FWD.... yeah.... i perfer rear wheel drive.... but i don't really care.. i've wanted one of these for 3 1/2 years and i now finally have my dream car.
it's unfortunate that the nissanexa.com gallery is down... (500mb of pictures) you'd be drooling in your seats seeing these things done up..

There is some serious power to be made from the CA18DET.. there is a young fella at uni that just purchased a exa for 6 grand. It has had the DET conversion done on it with some minor engine mods which would include hi flowed T28 turbo, forged pistons, microtech MTX8 engine managment, custom intercooler. All this is good for a healthy 140kW at the wheels but the body condition is not all that great.. nothing that isnt repairable tho. The car has run a low 13, but exact times are not to sure about. not a bad pocket rocket for 6g. But on the other hand it isnt a toyota...
