Need Help! 13B diesel pistons for landcruiser!??

My brother has a short-wheel-base landcruiser with the 13BT, diesel turbo engine. He has rebuilt the engine but used the same pistons, which were worn and because of which he lost compression in some cylinders (broke a compression ring).
He has just bought a 13B diesel, non-turbo block for the pistons, but has found the piston little ends are different diameter. Does anyone know the differences between the 13B and 13BT pistons, rods and crank (which parts are interchangable)? Do the engines have the same compression ratio, same strength, etc?
Also anywhere he could get hold of some 13BT pistons in good condition?
Any help much appreciated, he has spent hours on his engine already, his wife is having a baby soon and he really needs his car back on the road!!
