nice, what program you use? LW, Maya, Max, Rhino, Blender? I've been thinking about doing an RA23 model but I haven't good decent source pics. Anyone know where you could get tech blueprints or something like that?

i looked around for ages to find a low poly program to build polygons for my tinkering with directx. i enquired about the price of 3ds max (~$7000), and looked breifly at maya, but this is done with MilkShape 3D (http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/ms3d/index .html).
it is f*$king easy to use, small to download, free to try for 30 days, and best yet, it costs ~$50 AUD to register it!
i got a plastic model kit of my car for my birthday, and luckily it front, rear, top and side views! all to scale of each other.

sweet. Check out Blender, http://www.blender3d.org
its small, powerful, and best of all, its free The interface comes over to first time users as confusing, but if you stick with it it will make sense and be totally natural in a few hours/days. Its also made the change to be fully open source, and can also make games! Plus its portable to practically any OS. The game engine has been taken out of the open source releases, but they are working to get it implimented again.
Highly recommended
