AE86 internal fuel pump Thu, 03 July 2003 08:37 Go to next message
Just want to know which fuel pump would directly bolt onto the Aus-spec ae86 fuel tank(mind you I'm putting 100Kw 4age) I heard series 4 RX-7 is direct bolt on... Is that the best choice ?

Cheers !! Very Happy

Hmmm, when it comes to 'direct bolt in' I'd think you'd really be wanting to build some kind of swirl pot in the tank first...

rx7 is not a bolt in,you can use the pump itself but will still need the bracket for the efi pump, an AE82 pump and bracket will bolt on to the tank but the bracket will need to be made a little longer to reach the bottom of the tank, it is rumoured that a AW11 will bolt in perfectly but i havent seen it done yet

Even then, the Oz spec AE86 tank being made for the 4AC carb will not have an internal baffle unlike the EFI ones so you might starve of fuel when cornering hard ...

if youre tank is over 1/4 full you wont get surge, and as an added bonus you wont get crap up your lines and into your filter by running low Smile
