1JZGTE dimensions Thu, 03 July 2003 13:15 Go to next message
Hey fellas

I posted a thread on here recently about a 1JZGTE into a LJ Torana

I am still interested in doing this swap

How large are these motors compared to Holden Red sixes?

I have an article where a bloke had put a 1UZFE into an LJ are these of similar size?

I have also seen a non turbo 300zx motor into an LJ so hopefully this will give you all an idea of what fits and what doesn't

I still think 1JZGTE with boost controller, front mount and exhaust shall make the old 1100kg torana a weapon!

Cheers, Dane

I'll be taking apart my old 1JZ tomorrow so I'll measure it up and post it up.

From memoery, my 2JZ was 730mm long from the back of the flywheel cowl to the tip of the water pump (no fan). The other wide point is the alloy sump girdle (around 340mm but will accurately confirm).

The 2JZ-GTE is approx 650mm wide with manifolds and turbos installed. You're probably going to have issues with steering gear and/or brake booster clearance, so I suggest you take plenty of measurements before embarking on such a project.

I think I replied last time to this, it will fit. You need to cut the steering rack and fit an LH steering knuckle, to allow for dump pipe clearance, I'm not ready for my brake booster set up yet, but apparently the Leyland P76 set up is the way to go to get the extra offset. Email me: mattfrancis@optusnet.com.au, and we might be able to swap details during our build-ups (seeing we are doing the same conversion Smile ).

You're doing it into an LC/LJ? Wow I'm glad I am not the only person doing this swap

How far along are you, and do you have any pictures of any of it?
