With PICS.....Toyota 2R NEW Federal Mogul pistons... now only $35?? Fri, 04 July 2003 04:32 Go to next message
Update...
they cost me $40 and that's all i'm asking for.... they make snazzy paperweights Wink

anyone?

Hey all,
i have a set of brand spankin new Sterling/Federal Mogul pistons for sale.
i only have pistons and pins... no rings.
these are the specs i know

for toyota 2R motor, 1.0mm oversize (i think this is mk1 corona?)
skirt diameter is 79mm, crown diameter is 78mm
ring thickness is 2mm, 2.5mm, 4mm (1st 2nd oil)

they look to have a fairly thick crown and they weigh approx 330gms each, and pins weigh about 80gms each.
i can provide accurate weights as i have access to good scales at uni Very Happy , and could also probably balance them for free too.

i've been told they go for around $300 new, but i'm open to offers.
these pistons are new in box and are still shiny Smile

if anyone is interested, pm or call me on 0410 677 857. also lemme know if you know of anyone who might be interested.

i was hoping to use these in my K motor, but i'm not too keen on a 120 thou bore in a 4K Wink i might still use em depending on pin height n diameters.... hmmmm

anyhoo, i'll bring them to the dyno day for looksees...
Cya, Stewart

ps, and i'm around Newtown if anyone wants to take a look

i doubt they'd fit a 22R, but you can check the bore size of the 22 and see. the specs for the pistons are listed above.

Funnily enough, I know someone who might just be interested in these.
Now if they were 3R pistons, I'd buy them without even questioning.

GT what vehicle had the 3R motor? what is so special about it? or just it's rarity?

Any '3K-R type' 3R-R race engines made in the 70's that u know of?

1960-1967 Crowns had them - I know someone who collects them. He'd have snapped up a set of 3R pistons in a sec. They definitely arent a performance motor, but they are hard to find now because they are 40 years old.

Don't suppose that collector lives in Mt. Waverley?
