Apparently the AE82 EFI tank will fit provided you modify the mounting brackets.

How much modifying. Do you have to weld the tank? Does it still line up with the filler hole?
has anyone in Melbourne done it so i can have a look mabye?
Thanks

TE71 fuel tank is identical from what I've found. That's if you poor bastards even get TE71s in Oz.

I'd like to know the details about fitting an ae82 tank into the ae86.
I was looking at them today. The tanks are very different in shape and the fillers are on the opposite sides.
More info please.
Cheers.

Man, there's just too many imports here. Damn I wish there weren't so many imports. Such a shame you guys don't have many imports like us. And boy do I get sick of the abundance of import parts.
You dudes should just stick to ricing up Hyundais
But seriously......

Just because we actually have our own car industry to support... largely unimaginative buggers they are!

Yeah, but how long has it taken our local car industry to fully take to twin-cam technology...?

Methinks you forget that a HUGE proportion of our cars on the roads are Falcons and Commodores, and that the Falcon at least is using two locally developed engines, even if the block for the new V8 isn't built here.
Like it or not, they must be doing something right, because each of them respectively for their size is probably the healthiest of their parent companies subsidaries (?).
