Standard 1g... not a good idea.

funny enough.. when andrew put the FCD in he stuffed up a wire and the map sensor wire wasn't touching inside the plug. So i was basically running without a map sensor... ie.. in limp home mode.
Thats why i was bucketing out smoke!! DAMN!
Alll sorted now... yeah pipes before 17psi.. having fun on 15 though )

Sounds sweet mate - it's always happy times when you find a big prob was caused by something simple (and cheap!), though you wish it could have just run right first time....
Les i think when Luke said "not on a standard 1g" he was talking bout 17 psi and fcd, not just turning up the boost....

I remember one zoom article where they ran well over 20psi on a std 1G with an intercooler ... i also remember some quote along the lines "wound the boost up to a ball-tearing 35psi!". They did manage to blow up 4 1Gs during testing, but eventually they got it right IIRC. The old 1Gs seem pretty solid if you ask me.

15 psi is ok to run on the car ?
I wont be able to change from 15 psi to stock psi just using a bleed valve right ?

Les,
Yes you can. Turbo smart make two dual stage bleed valves.
There is an in cabin switch to change it.
One of them has stock boost and high boost - where only the high boost is adjustable. Or a high/ low boost, where both are adjustable.
I'd set it to 14psi to be safe... you will hit the boost cut over 15psi - ask Phill, he'll be able to tell you bout that!
